Eleuthera on Google Maps.
Inhabited by the Arawaks people, from the arrival of the Spaniards in 1550, the island have completely changed his fate. About 180 km long and with an average width of only 2 kilometers, Eleuthera was among 1950 and 1980, one of the most frequented island by rich Americans on vacation in the Bahamas. Eleuthera today is a popular tourist destination frequented by many Europeans in just an hour flight from island of Nassau. The main town, Governor's Harbour, is a small fishing town of lobsters and home of some specialized agencies for fishing of big ocean fish. The white sand beaches, the forests and the quiet coves of the west coast of the island, are the most important reasons for holidays by the tourists in search of sun, sea and tranquility. An unforgettable journey in the warm Caribbean Sea.
