Victor Harbor (Australia)

Australia - Curiosity - Back to index

By: Carlo Piccinelli

Victor Harbor on Google Maps.
The link service between the city of Victor Harbor and the island of Granite for tourists visiting the bay, takes place thanks to a line of old trams pulled by strong horses, one of the very few horse-drawn tram routes remaining in public transit service in Australia. Thanks to long bridge of 630 m built in 1864, the horse-drawn tram reaches the little Granite Island. Another chilometer  along the coast and the tram reaches the Visitor Center where is one of the largest penguin colonies of South Australia. A real journey into the past-
