Turin on Google Maps.
The house of Savoy, this is the Royal Palace for the inhabitants of Torino (Turin). Built in the 16th century and it was later modernized during in the 17th century, with designs by the Baroque architect Filippo Juvarra and today is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. The visit to the Royal Palace takes several hours because there are not only the Royal rooms with furnishings of the time, but there are the kitchens, the gardens, the Royal Librery, the Art Gallery and the beautiful  armoury, one of the largest collections of weapons from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. A visit that can last a whole day exploring the history of the dinasty of Savoy House. An interesting and complete historical and architectural journey in one of the most important palaces of Italy in whose rooms was developped the idea of unifying the fragmented peninsula in a single state.
