Trekking on the Alps (Italy)

Italy - Travel - Back to index

By: Carlo Piccinelli

The trip on Google Maps.
Walking in the mountains is always a good thing for many factors, especially when you pass valleys and alpine passes such as the path that from the village of Sauze d'Oulx, in the Susa Valley, reaches the valley of the Chisone river passing through the town of Pragelato and then up to the Pis Pass. overlooking the Troncea valley and take the long descent from Mount Albergian to the hamlet of village of Laux. A non-demanding route as alpine difficulty of 35 km in the mountains but with a series of important differences in height that even reach 1,300 m. A path that requires, to enjoy the spectacle of the mountains of the upper Susa valley and those overlooking the Olympic slopes of Sestriere and Pragelato, a couple of days spending a night in a tent to observe, given the absence of light pollution of the area, of the spectacular Milky Way that with the light of its stars illuminates the Alpine peaks.
