Shapes and colors in Ari Atoll (Maldives)

Maldives - Travel - Back to index

By: Carlo Piccinelli

Ari Atoll on Google Maps.
Ari is one of the most popular atolls visited by tourism in Maldives Islands. The reason is historic because the atoll of Ari has been one of the first Maldivian atolls to be opened to tourism in the seventies of the last century. Ari is also one of the largest atolls in Maldives, there are hundreds of islands in good parter uninhabited, several are inhabited by Maldivians, others have built resorts and touristic villages. Approachable from Male, the capital of Maldives, with fast boats or seaplane, the Ari Atoll is located on the northwest side of the vast Maldivian archipelago. Spread in the atoll between North Ari and South Ari there are famous dive sites both on Thile, the inland atolls, and Kandu, the peripheral entry and exit channels to the atoll that separate the outer islands from each other. The most famous dive sites documented in the video are Angothi, Gangehi, Fish Head, Fesdhoo, Emboodhu, Kudarha and many other as you can learn in the book “Immersioni alle Maldive” by Carlo Piccinelli. A journey for divers and snorkellers.
