Roses Garden (Maldives)

Maldives - Curiosity - Back to index

By: Carlo Piccinelli

The shoal of Roses Garden on Google Maps.
In the atoll of Gaafu Dhaalu, the south-western part of the large atoll which administratively also includes Gaafu Alifu, (north-eastern part) there is a shallow that varies between -30 and -4 meters very special. This shoal is completely covered by a dense aggregation of corals of thousand shapes and colours, many of which look like newly blossomed rose petals as well as vast extensions of Duende corals (Pavona duendeni) which make this place unique in the Maldives archipelago. A scuba dive and an unforgettable journey in a place full of colors and a marine life.
